Couture Week is on in the fashion capital; Paris, and while Versace as always has put up a stunning range of red carpet conscious garbs portraying the woman as that sexy and powerful personae in perfectly constructed garments, it only occurred to me that some of the pieces seemed very similar to what we had seen Atelier Versace do before. While it is okay to run out of ideas and draw inspiration from what already exists, at least that only helps remind us that we are still human. It was evident Donatella cleverly took ideas from its past collections (Fall 2014 Couture and Spring 2015 Couture), merged it and created a breathtaking line of high-end pieces with ready-to-wear appeal.
While this is definitely more of a case of “Old habits are hard to break” situation, I am in awe of how the polished looking collection played out with a less severe color palette, the impeccable details of draping, her sweet art of color blocking without completely divorcing the brand’s signature design elements. Here are the looks and the other looks from Versace’s most recent collection for Couture Week Paris.
